// PROJECT 02

BRIEF / DESCRIPTION

The brief was to design and produce a bespoke desk organiser for a pencil and graphite artist. Functionality and aesthetics led the design process. It was essential to understand the workflow of the client and cater the design to this. The desk organiser needed to contain every tool used by the artist, storing these away when not in use and then displaying them in an organised outlay when in use.

The desk organiser has been designed to successfully exist in two states : stored-away and in-use.

stored-away | The box simply becomes an object. It’s minimal and sleek form allows it to exist harmoniously in any context.

in-use | The lid and base can be laid adjacent to one another creating a flat lay tray. The zig-zag surface allows for organised customisation of the layout. Each component and tool can be arranged however the artist wishes, with the zig-zag form ensuring they all remain parallel.
